Can you imagine being on a vessel that is only 220 feet long and 42 feet wide with over 300 other passengers and crew, no electricity, no real plumbing to speak of though they do mention a "ladies water closet" and no refrigeration or air conditioning for 79 days.

It is interesting to read about their various meetings of committees to address issues like being cheated on  the allotments of food and how they were induced to purchase bottles of "Porter" since the water tasted so bad.

In spite of this they still managed to have dancing on deck during good weather .   I am sure they played many and different games of cards and told countless stories.  Some of them would most certainly have formed bonds that lasted a lifetime in their new land of Australia.
